Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As we begin to enter our “winter season” I am reminded of the many reasons we relocated from New Jersey to Boca Raton. In addition to the obvious reasons (weather, activities, food), one reason that I did not anticipate was the many new and wonderful friends I can call “family” thanks to the Bonanno Lodge. I am so fortunate to have my lodge brothers and sisters in my life. It is a daily encouragement to make the OSDIA experience as enjoyable for you as it has been for me. Our October 8 meeting and presentation celebrating Italian Heritage included a short video poem recitation by Angelo Bianchi, Esq that was very well received by the membership. Antipasto (literally “before the meal”) was the meal of the evening and it was fabulous. Twelve new members were installed and our attendance was again at a record breaking level. The theme of the November 12 meeting promises to be very inspiring as we will have a salute to veterans that will include the Olympic Heights Community High School Marine Corp JROTC presenting the Color Guard for the National Anthem. Our bocce group continues to meet every Thursday morning at 9AM at the Dr. Andre Fladell Civic Center. All are encouraged to participate. I am very proud of the hard work being done by our Board of Trustees in developing new programs and events based on your feedback and suggestions. Your support is greatly appreciated.
