Dear Brothers and Sisters,

South Florida continues to be in the midst of a heat wave that requires all of us to be mindful of our outdoor activities during the daylight hours. Stay hydrated and use sunblock as much as possible. We had our second summer gathering at the Sicilian Oven in Boca Raton on July 19 and it was a rousing success. The response was the highest we have had for this event and included a large number of guests (potential new members). The quality of the food served family style seems to be a favorite of the attendees. An additional activity was the installation of three new members who took the oath and received their membership certificates and lodge pins. Our next summer dinner will be at Agliolio in Boynton Beach on August 16. Agliolio has fantastic menu choices for appetizers, entrees, and fresh pasta with toppings of one’s choice. As you read this Newletter, you will notice two new additions. The first is a recipe excerpt from the renowned cookbook “Preserving Our Italian Heritage”. The second is a memorial that will now be available for purchase ($50.00) and appear in future newsletters for 12 months. Send an email to me if you wish to purchase memorial space. Both items will be regular features moving forward. Finally, we sent out our first member survey using Mailchimp and have received a good initial response. We plan to present the results at the September 10 general business meeting.

Your officers and trustees continue to look for ways to improve our operation based on your feedback. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Bob Ianniello

President
